"What do I need to do before Painting Services?"
Before exterior painting services begin, it is important to understand what may be important to the painting contractor performing the renovation. within this article, there are important items to consider before the painting contractor has arrived to begin the wash cycle on your home.
1) Color Choice
it is important that prior to the washing of your home, you have at minimum the siding color chosen for your painting service. this seems very logical but can be stubborn to really "nail down.". We stand out amongst our competitors in the way that we do not require this step to be complete until the preparatory stage has almost progressed to completion. but many of our competitors require this step prior to washing or beginning any work required for painting services. So it is important not to skip this step.
2) Plants/Sprinkler systems/ Windows
As all great Painting Contractors begin with pressure washing, it is vitally important that all windows that shut are in fact closed and all air conditioning units are off and any window units are uninstalled. this is necessary in not only protecting your belongings inside the home from water damage but also allows the client to make note of any windows that have become stuck or inoperable. Sprinkler systems designed for lawn usage should be looked over so that they aare not spraying directly on the siding, which is a common cause for warranty calls that re not covered under standard warranties as painting contractor defect. Plants and landscaping that are growing close to the home should be trimmed back a minimum of 3 feet from the building, as vegetation breathes out moisture and is classically difficult to keep off of the painted surfaces during the procedure of painting services.
3) Pets/ Personal items
Before Painting services are performed, it is essential that there is a plan in place for your pets and your personal exterior items such as barbecues, wind chimes, removable lighting, and removable camera systems. This plan should be clearly explained to the painting company and confirmed with the professional painters performing the work to eliminate communication gaps that may occur. A great way to be sure that all 3 of these checklist items are followed is the advice we give to all clients, which is "be around" if at all possible. We at Cornerstone Brushworks request the presence of our clientele throughout the process. This can be a drop-in at lunchbreak, a pre determined time to meet up mid process to discuss the painting service, or that there is someone available within the residence. This helps with things that can "pop up" during painting services, such as "Whoa, that's the right color, but it looks so different on the swatch than it does on the house.". Catching details like this at the right time will be a game-changer in the expedience of painting service execution, as well as act as a pivot point to switch directions in a given area or color choice when it is most cost-effective to do so. Client involvement has always led us to the best results, as it is your home and it must be pleasing to your senses of style.
